It is not easy. But why not challenge the status quo, I ask? Why not make a season schedule where you play the best teams? This will also improve your team’s level of play for your conference games.
Don’t think about tomorrow. The present is what matters!
My existence as a basketball coach has always been challenging. It pays to train abroad as long as you don’t lose to a lower level team.
If you do, you’re in for nothing but misery. In most countries, management does not give you time to prove that you have learned from a past defeat.
So why not think big NOW? Your players, student body and administration will appreciate it.
Now is the time!
Prepare, prepare, prepare! Develop your players in the offseason. Motivate them! Surround yourself with coaches who can add value to your goals. They are there. They are probably not people you know, but they are men of integrity and knowledge.
Purposeful preparation will improve your approach and communication skills with your players and everyone involved in the program.
Believe in yourself and the vision you have for the program! It is achievable. Players will see in your eyes and body language that you truly believe in the message you are communicating.
They’ll think you’re crazy, or maybe they’ll think it’s possible and be happy to be a part of the process.
High thinking will only lead to better team chemistry and cohesion.
